Made for More

We are certainly in full 'holiday swing' around here. Parties, gifts, decorating, and baking are apart of the season and I absolutely love it. But if I am honest, I am exhausted. I am physically tired and a bit emotionally tired too. This girl needs a nap or Starbucks. Sadly, the only people who nap in this house are under the age of three, thus I drink Starbucks to keep going.

Stop. I know better, I know that when my body screams out for rest that I am supposed to honor it, but I don't. I am trying to keep up with the hectic pace of life (oh yeah that reminds me, I need to make my Christmas cards and mail them) and stay ahead of the chaos. But it's not working, it's just not working.

SO i will stop, I will reboot and I will re-examine my life. I will let the Lord guide me and remind me to be gentle to this body and soul He has given to me. I will rest, I will sleep, and I will treat my body kindly and respectfully with the foods I choose to eat. Using food for nourishment and not sugar for a short-lived energy burst.

In this busy holiday season, may you remember it is not about the pace of the race in which you run, it is the quality in which you finish. Be blessed and go rest.
